Our ministry has several financial needs, one of which is the cost of fuel to travel to and from each of the prison facilities. Each trip is 200 to 300 miles, and the expenses are becoming prohibitive. For next year alone, our commitment is to do 140 services – that’s 12 services each month. Here are some financial statistics:
- 30,460 miles that will be driven
- 1,518 gallons of fuel needed for a total of $4,174.50 spent on fuel (depending on the fluctuation of fuel prices)
- $3,450.00 needed for meals while traveling
- $850.00 needed for hotels for overnight stays
That means there will be a total of roughly $8,500.00 just for travel costs. This does not include the packaged food items that we provide weekly, and the basic hygiene items that are given by this ministry to every inmate.
